A young woman’s journey to independence
The Little Mermaid has toured in three continents and has been performed on both water and land.
The solo show was presented for the audience along with the statue of the little mermaid at The Danish Pavilion at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai on Denmark’s Day.
The Little Mermaid works well in grand surroundings, where the powerful lightness of the choreography can put the world in perspective.
The Little Mermaid can also be shown when sensuality, longing and the young woman’s’ identity and journey for independence is the theme or exhibitions, conferences or events where water, air or the elements is a theme.
The acrobatic, powerful and extreme movements, of which many are inspired from the world of gymnastics, need a clean, smooth and fixed surface without stone or gravel.
